Cradock War Memorial
About Cradock War Memorial
The recently completed Cradock Memorial Garden Shelter now houses two picnic table settings and two wartime information plaques setting out Australia’s commitment during both World Wars. The Shelter provides attendees, especially ageing community members and veterans from periods gone bye, respite from the extremes of weather and fatigue given the nature of events such as Anzac Day, Remembrance Day, Australia Day and such social events which occur from time to time.
The Cradock War Memorial and Memorial Garden are situated on the RM Williams Way, on the main tourist route between the Flinders Ranges and the wines regions of the Barossa and Clare Valley. These tourism venues attract an estimated 60,000 travellers annually. With sheltered ‘picnic’ facilities now established in the Cradock Memorial Garden, travellers through the area will now be given cause to pause and enjoy the experiences the Cradock Heritage Trail now provide.
