Powell Gardens
About Powell Gardens
The Late Brian Powell AM, with wife Fay, was widely known for promoting the use of native plants in home and public gardens, especially in arid areas with poor water quality. They were also known for their pioneering work with the CSIRO in developing a Quandong industry.
It was Brian’s idea to establish a garden of native plant species found to occur within a radius of 30 km of Quorn.
Powell Gardens is within Quorn’s Parkland’s and alongside Pioneer park (a 1974 Quorn Apex Club tree plantation, in memory of the district’s pioneers).
