Gate 54 Jet Set Lounge Andamooka Airport Garden Party
About Gate 54 Jet Set Lounge Andamooka Airport Garden Party
Step into the sounds and style of the 1970s at the Andamooka Airport Kaleidoscope Garden Party!
Put on your best 1970s gear and settle in for a relaxing afternoon at the airfield, with music from 1971 specially curated by Cal the Stoner, our volunteer airfield groundskeeper and one of the dedicated builders of the garden.
Hear the story of how a grassroots grant helped create the Andamooka Airport Native Corridor: a climate-resilient buffer zone designed for the challenging conditions of the South Australian outback. A special presentation will explore the garden’s design, the selection of hardy native plants and how vegetation can help reduce heat, dust and erosion around the airfield.
Your ticket includes one drink on arrival, canapés and lunch. Additional drinks will be available to purchase throughout the event.
Proceeds from the garden party will support the ongoing maintenance of Andamooka Airfield.
Come dressed for the 1970s and enjoy great food, carefully curated music and the fascinating story of a community garden taking root in a truly unique outback setting.
Reflecting the 2026 theme of Seed, the Native Corridor and garden demonstrates how a small grassroots idea can grow into a lasting contribution to climate resilience, environmental stewardship, and community pride.
This event is part-funded through a Nature Festival regional micro-grant, generously supported by RAA and the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board.
