Mount Remarkable National Park
Mount Remarkable National Park is a popular bushwalking destination offering diverse flora, dramatic gorges and wilderness experiences. There are some incredible views to be had – the 960 m high Mount Remarkable Summit presides over the Willochra Plain and looks out to the Spencer Gulf.
Mambray Creek is home to some of the park’s best attractions, including access to Black Range Lookout, the secluded hiking experience of Hidden Gorge, and a campground surrounded by towering river red gums.
The awe-inspiring Alligator Gorge is another must-see attraction. Bring a picnic or stay overnight at Alligator Lodge.
Want to extend your stay? Consider basing yourself at nearby Melrose, and checking in for the weekend at Under the Mount or Melrose Holiday Units.
Know before you go - Mount Remarkable National Park can at times be temporarily closed to the public to conduct pest control or after events like a bushfire. It is important to check in advance of your arrival of any closures, planned or unplanned, to the Park. Please visit the official website, Parks SA, to find out more.
