About Andamooka Caravan & Camp Ground

Welcome to Andamooka’s community-owned caravan and camping ground—a relaxed, authentic outback stay just a short stroll from the town hub. Perfect for adventurers, it’s central to opal fossicking sites and a network of scenic tracks stretching to the horizon.

No bookings required—it’s first come, first served. Roll in and enjoy powered sites, private ablution facilities, potable water, a pump-out station, BBQ, and spacious camping areas with shelter. Families are well catered for with an undercover playground, skate ramp, and Pumptrack onsite.

Things to Do
Fossick for opals, then learn to cut and polish your finds at the community Lapidary Shed (open Saturday mornings on the main street).
Take a guided underground opal mine tour, or venture out to Lake Torrens and the surrounding fields.
Stop in at the friendly Dine-A-Mite Café in the Community Hall—open Wed–Sun 9am–2pm, plus Thurs & Fri evenings 5–8pm.
Stroll Andamooka’s main street to explore 1930s historic cottages, then drop into the Post Office. More than banking and mail, it’s home to an opal showroom, the quirky Bottlehouse, tourist information, a laundromat, and an underground museum revealing the town’s hidden stories.
Share stories around a campfire beneath the vast desert sky, and soak in the magic of the outback.

Andamooka: Where adventure, history, and outback soul come together.
