Andamooka Caravan & Camp Ground
About Andamooka Caravan & Camp Ground
Welcome to Andamooka’s community-owned caravan and camping ground — a relaxed, authentic outback stay just a short stroll from the town hub. Perfect for adventurers, it’s close to opal fossicking sites and scenic tracks stretching to the horizon.
No bookings required — it’s first come, first served. Roll in, find a spot and enjoy spacious camping areas, private ablution facilities, potable water, a pump-out station, BBQ facilities and shelter. A limited number of powered sites are available, subject to availability on arrival.
Families are well catered for, with an undercover playground, skate ramp and Pumptrack onsite.
Things to do:
Fossick for opals, then learn to cut and polish your finds at the community Lapidary Shed, open Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Take a guided underground opal mine tour or venture out to Lake Torrens and the surrounding fields.
Visit Dine-A-Mite Café in the Community Hall, or stroll the main street to explore Andamooka’s historic 1930s cottages and Post Office precinct, featuring an opal showroom, quirky Bottlehouse, tourist information, laundromat and underground museum.
Then share stories around a campfire beneath the vast desert sky and soak up the magic of the outback.
Andamooka — where adventure, history and outback soul come together.
