This historic railway line has been lovingly restored and operated as a working museum since 1973 by dedicated volunteers. Travel full or half-day journeys between Quorn and Port Augusta on the last remaining operating portion of the original “Old Ghan” line.
Afghan Express
Steam-hauled with timber-bodied 1920s carriages. Port Augusta to Quorn (return) with time to enjoy lunch in historic Quorn — SA Tourism Tiny Tourism Town winner 2022.
Pichi Richi Explorer
Steam-hauled using South Australian Railways carriages, some from the 19th century. A half-day trip from Quorn to Woolshed Flat and return.
