Boasting the largest inland grain storage facility in Australia, Gladstone is surrounded by grain and sheep-grazing land. Visit ‘Three Gauges Park’ in the centre of town and be engrossed in Gladstone’s extensive railway history.

Visit the adjacent operating Memorial Fountain, check out the memorabilia pavilion and enjoy the tranquillity of the Peace Garden.

‘Do time’ at the Heritage-listed Gladstone Gaol, which has also served as an internment camp and barracks and was in official use until 1975.

At the Southern Flinders Discovery Centre soak up the history of the district, purchase locally made jams, chutneys, condiments and craft work, do a tour of the town and marvel at the beautiful stone buildings.
