Port Germein

This pretty coastal town is home to a wooden jetty that was once 1.7km in length and was also the longest in the southern hemisphere. Shallow tides ensure safe swimming at the beach. Look out for sandcrabs, fish from the jetty, enjoy the playground or eat lunch under the gazebos. There are electric barbecues available.

Take a scenic drive through Port Germein Gorge en-route to Melrose and Mount Remarkable. East of Port Germein, Telowie Gorge Conservation Park has great walking trails and spectacular views of Spencer Gulf.

Mambray Creek is part of Mount Remarkable National Park, with superb hiking and shady campsites. Enjoy three great walks from Alligator Gorge Road.
